Comparing Cedar Swing Set Alternatives
Backyard Discovery Mount McKinley Cedar Swing Set
The Backyard Discovery Mount McKinley measures 150 by 186 inches, making it narrower but longer than the Rosemont. It weighs 308 pounds, offering more stability than the 185-pound Rosemont. This set targets larger yards with extended climbing and swinging variety. You get a robust cedar build similar to the original, but the footprint changes your layout options. It suits families needing more linear play space rather than the wide, compact design of the Rosemont. The trade-off is less horizontal width for more depth in the yard.
Backyard Discovery Canyon Creek Cedar Playset
The Backyard Discovery Canyon Creek is a substantial cedar playset at 183 by 188 inches. It weighs 387 pounds, significantly heavier than the Rosemont’s 185 pounds. This model fits large yards needing a multi-feature unit with a clubhouse and climbing wall. It offers more vertical play structures compared to the Rosemont’s fort. You gain a larger footprint and heavier construction for durability. However, you sacrifice the compact 84-inch length of the Rosemont. This pick is for those who prioritize extensive climbing features and a larger overall structure over a smaller, more manageable footprint.
Backyard Discovery Beach Front Cedar Swing Set
The Backyard Discovery Beach Front measures 173 by 169 inches and weighs 276 pounds. It is wider and longer than the Rosemont but lighter. This set offers multi-level cedar play with climbing and swinging variety. It includes sensory play features similar to the Rosemont’s sandbox. You get a natural wood build with a different layout. The trade-off is a lack of the specific picnic bench included with the Rosemont. It suits families with ample space who want a mix of activities. It is ideal for those valuing multi-level features over the compact, integrated design of the original Rosemont model.
Sportspower Cedar Wooden Playset with Saucer Swing
The Sportspower Cedar Swing Set with Saucer is much smaller at 107 by 137 inches. It weighs less than the Rosemont and offers a 500 lb capacity. This set features a saucer swing instead of sling swings. It includes a lifetime slide warranty like the original. You get a compact option for heavy-duty play. The trade-off is significantly less overall size and fewer climbing features. It suits families needing a smaller footprint with high weight capacity. It is best for younger kids or limited yard space where the larger Rosemont would not fit comfortably.
Backyard Discovery Sterling Point Cedar Swing Set
The Backyard Discovery Sterling Point is massive at 246 by 201 inches and weighs 606 pounds. It dwarfs the Rosemont in both size and weight. This set offers extensive climbing and swinging features for large yards. You get a robust cedar build with varied play options. The trade-off is the significant space and effort required for setup. It is not suitable for small yards. This pick is for families with ample space who want a comprehensive play area. It sacrifices the compact, manageable nature of the Rosemont for a much larger, more complex structure.
Gorilla Playsets Outing Cedar Dual Slide Swing Set
The Gorilla Playsets Outing measures 180 by 150 inches and weighs 293 pounds. It is wider than the Rosemont but shorter in length. This set offers dual slides and a shaded play area. You get a high weight capacity and durable cedar construction. The trade-off is the loss of the rock wall climber and sandbox space found in the Rosemont. It suits compact yards needing shade and dual slide functionality. It is ideal for those who value covered play and multiple slides over the climbing and sensory features of the original Rosemont model.
