Who it fits
Good fit for
This swing suits families with young children who want shared playtime. The two-person capacity is ideal for siblings or friends. If you have a wooden swing set, the included brackets make installation straightforward. The plastic coating on the chains protects small hands. The heavy-duty construction meets strict safety standards. You get a durable option for residential backyards. The green and yellow color adds visual appeal. It fits standard wooden beams without extra adapters.
Who should skip it
Skip this if you have a metal frame. The brackets are designed for wooden swing set beams only. You cannot mount it to steel or PVC structures without modification. The plastic coating, while protective, changes the feel. You must follow the included installation instructions for safety. Check your beam size before buying.
Verdict: This dual glider is a sturdy, spec-compliant choice for wooden playsets. It safely supports two riders with protective chain coatings.
Key specs for this swing
Width: 38 inches
This measurement defines the total span of the seat from left to right. A 38-inch width accommodates two children sitting side by side comfortably. You should verify that your existing swing set beam can support this span without interference. Wider seats allow for more flexibility in seating arrangements but require a correspondingly wider mounting point to ensure stability during use.
Weight: 18.1 pounds
This figure indicates the total mass of the swing kit, including the seat and hardware. At 18.1 pounds, the unit is substantial enough to provide a steady, smooth glide without excessive bouncing. This weight helps dampen vibrations during play. You should ensure your swing set structure is robust enough to handle this load without wobbling or stressing the mounting brackets over time.
Installation Type: Mounts to wooden swing set beams
This specification clarifies that the swing is designed specifically for attachment to wooden structures. The included brackets are engineered to secure firmly to timber beams rather than metal poles. You must confirm that your playset features compatible wooden crossbeams before purchasing. This limits compatibility to residential wooden playsets and excludes metal frame structures or standalone swing frames without wooden supports.
Color: Green/Yellow
This describes the visual finish of the molded plastic seat. The combination of green and yellow provides a high-contrast appearance that stands out against typical backyard backgrounds. This color scheme aids in visibility, making it easier to locate the swing in a large yard. The colors are integrated into the molded material, which helps resist fading from prolonged exposure to sunlight and outdoor weather conditions.
Design and Build Quality
According to the listing, this unit features a durable molded swing seat. This design allows two children to ride together in a back-to-back configuration. The seat measures 38 inches wide, 24 inches high, and 16 inches long. These dimensions create a compact footprint that fits standard residential swing set beams. The total weight is 18.1 pounds. This mass provides stability during use without overwhelming the support structure.
The kit includes adjustable 18-inch steel swing hangers. These brackets are powder-coated to resist weather damage and secure the swing to wooden beams. Commercial-style steel chains connect the seat to the hangers. These chains feature a soft plastic coating. This finish improves grip and helps protect small hands from pinching during motion. The color scheme is listed as Green/Yellow.
Heavy-duty construction meets ASTM and CPSIA standards. This compliance indicates the materials and assembly methods are tested for safety in outdoor environments. The included mounting hardware and installation instructions allow for fast setup. You should verify that your existing swing set beam can support the load and span of this tandem design. The plastic coating on the chains requires minimal maintenance compared to bare metal options.
Setup And Everyday Use
Setting up this swing requires mounting it to wooden swing set beams. The kit includes adjustable 18-inch steel swing hangers and all necessary mounting hardware. These powder-coated steel brackets are designed for secure installation on most standard wooden structures. You will also receive installation instructions to help with the fast setup process. The coated chains and brackets are included in the complete glider swing kit, so you do not need to source separate components. This all-in-one approach simplifies the assembly phase significantly. Once installed, the swing provides a smooth back-to-back gliding motion. The durable molded seat allows two children to ride together comfortably. The plastic-coated steel chains feature a soft coating that helps prevent pinching. This design detail improves grip and protects little hands during play. The commercial-style chains ensure durability during daily use. The unit is made for outdoor swing sets and residential backyard playsets. Its heavy-duty construction meets ASTM and CPSIA standards for children’s play equipment. You can expect consistent performance in typical outdoor environments. The green and yellow color scheme adds visual appeal to your playset. The 38-inch width accommodates two riders side by side. The 24-inch height and 16-inch length provide adequate space for comfortable seating. The 18.1-pound weight suggests a sturdy build that remains stable during use. This swing integrates well with existing wooden structures. You simply attach the provided brackets and secure the chains. The result is a functional tandem swing ready for daily backyard play.
Check Compatibility And Setup Needs
Before you buy, verify your swing set beam width. The 38-inch span requires a sturdy wooden support structure. You must ensure the beam can handle the 18.1-pound weight plus two riders. Check that your existing set has adequate clearance for the 24-inch height. This unit mounts to wooden beams using the included 18-inch steel hangers. You do not need additional tools if you have standard hardware. The plastic-coated chains help protect hands but may require occasional tightening. Keep the molded seat clean to prevent weather damage. This tandem glider fits well in residential backyards. It suits families who want shared playtime. Compare it with single-seat options if space is tight. Ensure your current playset meets ASTM and CPSIA standards. This swing complements other Safe Kidz accessories. It is ideal for older children who can balance together. Verify your beam length accommodates the full bracket system. This model is a durable choice for frequent use.

Frequently asked questions
Is this swing suitable for toddlers?
Yes, the Safe Kidz Dual Glider is designed for two children. The 24-inch height provides adequate legroom for younger riders while keeping their center of gravity low. The 38-inch width allows for a secure side-by-side or back-to-back seating arrangement. This configuration helps distribute weight evenly, making it a stable choice for families with multiple young children using the same playset.
What material is the swing seat made of?
The seat is constructed from durable molded material. This design choice ensures the unit can withstand outdoor weather conditions without warping or splintering. The molded structure contributes to the 18.1-pound weight, offering stability during use. The Green/Yellow color scheme is applied to this molded surface, providing visibility while maintaining a sturdy, single-piece form for the riders.
Does this fit standard wooden swing sets?
Yes, this unit is specifically designed for mounting on wooden swing set beams. The kit includes adjustable 18-inch steel swing hangers that attach directly to the wood. You must verify that your existing wooden beams are sturdy enough to support the 18.1-pound weight of the swing plus two riders. The hardware is powder-coated to resist corrosion on outdoor structures.
How much space does the swing take up?
The swing measures 38 inches wide, 24 inches high, and 16 inches long. These dimensions define the physical footprint of the seat itself. You should ensure your playset has adequate clearance around the swing to prevent collisions with other structures. The 38-inch width is the critical measurement for determining if your swing set beam can accommodate the span.
Can adults use this swing?
This swing is best suited for two children. The 38-inch width and 24-inch height are optimized for younger riders. The 18.1-pound weight of the unit suggests it is not engineered for heavy adult loads. Using it for adults may exceed the structural limits of the molded seat or the mounting hardware. It is intended for tandem child use on wooden playsets.
What is included in the installation kit?
The kit includes adjustable 18-inch steel swing hangers and all necessary mounting hardware. These components are designed for secure attachment to wooden beams. The steel brackets are powder-coated for durability. You will need to provide your own tools for installation, but the hardware ensures the swing hangs securely from your existing wooden playset structure without requiring additional purchases.
Is the swing heavy to move?
The unit weighs 18.1 pounds. This weight makes it stable during use but requires two people to lift and mount it safely. The molded construction adds to the heft, ensuring the swing does not tip easily. You should plan for a helper when installing it on your wooden playset to manage the weight and alignment of the mounting hardware.
