6 Best Alternatives to the MEDEHOO Sandbox Lid Cover (2026)

How these alternatives compare

Best Choice Products 47-Inch Cedar Sandbox with Benches

The Best Choice Products Cedar Sandbox uses natural cedar wood instead of the MEDEHOO’s FSC-certified solid wood. It weighs 32.5 pounds, which is lighter than the MEDEHOO’s 47 pounds. This makes it easier to move if you need to reposition your play area. It shares the same 47-inch footprint and includes built-in benches for seating. However, it lacks the 360-degree adjustable canopy found on the MEDEHOO model. You get a simpler cover mechanism instead. This option suits families who want a durable cedar build and integrated seating but do not require advanced sun protection. It is a solid choice for those prioritizing material quality and weight savings over complex canopy features.

Mederra 46.5" Cedar Sandbox with Canopy

The Mederra 46.5-inch Cedar Sandbox is slightly smaller than the MEDEHOO unit, measuring 46.5 inches on each side. It is constructed from cedar wood and includes built-in benches for seating. This model is designed for small yards and toddler play, offering a compact footprint that fits tighter spaces. It lacks the leak-proof non-woven bottom liner present in the MEDEHOO sandbox. The Mederra unit does not mention an adjustable canopy, focusing instead on basic protection. It is ideal for parents with limited backyard space who need a sturdy, natural wood sandbox. The smaller size makes it less suitable for older children who need more room to play compared to the larger MEDEHOO model.

Agitree 47" Wooden Sandbox with Canopy

The Agitree 47-inch Wooden Sandbox offers a compact design similar to the MEDEHOO but features a vibrant orange color. It weighs 47 pounds, matching the MEDEHOO weight. It includes built-in benches and is designed for children aged 3 to 8 years. The Agitree model provides practical shade and storage for small yards. It does not specify an FSC-certified wood construction or a leak-proof bottom liner like the MEDEHOO. The canopy mechanism details are not explicitly defined in the same way. This sandbox is a good alternative for families who prioritize weather protection and a compact footprint. It suits those who want integrated seating and shade without needing the specific eco-certifications or advanced drainage features of the MEDEHOO unit.

SoliWood 85-Inch Octagon Wooden Sandbox with 4 Benches

The SoliWood 85-inch Octagon Sandbox is significantly larger than the MEDEHOO unit, measuring 85 by 78 inches. It is designed for large family play areas and includes four benches for seating. This model is much heavier at 31 pounds, though the dimensions suggest a larger volume of wood. It is intended for spacious backyards where you can accommodate its large footprint. It lacks the adjustable canopy and leak-proof liner found in the MEDEHOO sandbox. The SoliWood unit is ideal for households with multiple children who need ample seating and a stable sandpit. It offers a different shape and much more play space, making it a better choice for larger families rather than those seeking a compact, shaded play area.

Best Choice Products 52x45 Sandbox with Bench

The Best Choice Products 52 by 45-inch Sandbox offers a rectangular shape instead of the MEDEHOO’s square design. It weighs 41 pounds and includes built-in benches. This model features integrated water play and shade, providing a complete backyard station. It does not mention an FSC-certified wood construction or a leak-proof bottom liner. The canopy and water features offer a different play experience compared to the MEDEHOO’s focus on clean sand and adjustable sun protection. This sandbox is best for buyers who want an all-in-one play space with water activities. It suits families looking for a versatile backyard station rather than a dedicated sand pit with advanced weather protection features.

Badger Basket 46.5" Cedar Sandbox with Benches

The Badger Basket 46.5-inch Cedar Sandbox is constructed from natural cedar wood and includes a folding lid. It weighs 42.9 pounds, which is lighter than the MEDEHOO model. It features built-in benches for seating and a simple folding lid mechanism. This model lacks the 360-degree adjustable canopy and leak-proof non-woven bottom liner found in the MEDEHOO sandbox. It is designed for families who value integrated seating and a straightforward cover system. The Badger Basket unit is a practical choice for those seeking a durable, natural wood sandbox. It suits buyers who prefer a simple, reliable design without complex canopy mechanisms or advanced drainage features, focusing instead on clean sand storage and basic seating.
