6 Best Alternatives to the Gorilla Playsets Mountaineer Treehouse Swing Set (2026)

How alternatives compare to Mountaineer

Hapfan 6-in-1 Steel Treehouse Swing Set

The Hapfan 6-in-1 Steel Treehouse Swing Set uses a steel frame instead of wood. It measures 234 inches wide by 112 inches long, making it longer but narrower than the Mountaineer. The height is 92.5 inches, which is significantly lower than the Mountaineer’s 132-inch structure. This model weighs 196 pounds, nearly double the Mountaineer’s 100 pounds. You get a treehouse theme similar to the original, but with a different material feel. The steel construction may offer different durability traits compared to cedar. This option suits those who prefer metal frames or need a slightly different footprint. The lower height might be better for younger children or smaller yards where vertical clearance is limited.

Lifetime Big Stuff Deluxe Playset

The Lifetime Big Stuff Deluxe Playset is constructed from plastic rather than wood. It measures 243 inches wide, 223 inches long, and 132 inches high. The width exceeds the Mountaineer by nearly 70 inches, while the length is much shorter. The height matches the Mountaineer exactly at 132 inches. This unit weighs 825 pounds, which is vastly heavier than the 100-pound Mountaineer. The plastic material requires little maintenance compared to the cedar that needs sealing. The primary color scheme differs from the Mountaineer’s amber tone. This choice is ideal if you want to avoid wood upkeep entirely. The extensive width provides more ground space for play activities. The substantial weight ensures stability without needing deep anchoring in some cases.

Gorilla Playsets Treasure Trove Treehouse Swing Set

The Gorilla Playsets Treasure Trove Treehouse is a larger cedar structure than the Mountaineer. It measures 330 inches wide, 228 inches long, and 156 inches high. The width is 156 inches greater than the Mountaineer, and the height is 24 inches taller. The length is 12 inches shorter. It also weighs 100 pounds, similar to the original. This model offers a multi-level treehouse experience, expanding on the single-level design of the Mountaineer. The amber cedar finish remains consistent with Gorilla’s standard aesthetic. This set is best for large yards where space is not a constraint. The increased height and width allow for more complex play scenarios. You get additional vertical space for climbing and exploring compared to the more compact Mountaineer design.

Gorilla Playsets Great Skye I with Tube Slide

The Gorilla Playsets Great Skye I with Tube Slide shares the same 100-pound weight as the Mountaineer. It measures 234 inches wide, 228 inches long, and 156 inches high. The width is 60 inches greater than the Mountaineer, while the length is 12 inches shorter. The height is 24 inches taller. This model also features an amber cedar finish. It offers robust 800 lbs capacity, matching the Mountaineer’s total weight limit. The Great Skye I provides versatile stations for growing families. The increased width allows for more simultaneous play activities. The taller structure offers more overhead space. This alternative suits those who want the same wood quality but a different layout. The tube slide is included, maintaining a key feature from the Mountaineer.

Gorilla Playsets Pioneer Peak Wooden Swing Set

The Gorilla Playsets Pioneer Peak Wooden Swing Set is a spacious cedar option. It measures 270 inches wide, 252 inches long, and 132 inches high. The width is 96 inches greater than the Mountaineer, and the length is 12 inches longer. The height matches the Mountaineer at 132 inches. It weighs 100 pounds, identical to the original. The Pioneer Peak offers a traditional wood playset design with multiple play elements. The amber color matches the Mountaineer’s aesthetic. This set is ideal for large yards seeking extensive ground coverage. The increased dimensions allow for more play stations and movement space. You get classic wood construction without the treehouse theme. This choice is best if you prefer a ground-level focus with ample width and length for activities.

Gorilla Playsets Avalon Treehouse Dual Slide Swing Set

The Gorilla Playsets Avalon Treehouse Dual Slide Swing Set features a vinyl roof instead of wood. It measures 180 inches wide, 150 inches long, and 126 inches high. The width is 6 inches greater than the Mountaineer, while the length is 90 inches shorter. The height is 6 inches lower. This model weighs 297 pounds, nearly triple the Mountaineer’s weight. The cedar wood construction is present, but the vinyl roof provides shade. The dual slides offer more play options than the Mountaineer’s single tube slide. This set is ideal for large yards needing shade coverage. The shorter length makes it easier to fit in narrower spaces. The vinyl roof reduces maintenance compared to a wooden roof.
