How alternatives compare to Great Skye II
Lifetime Big Stuff Deluxe Playset
The Lifetime Big Stuff Deluxe Playset uses high-density polyethylene instead of cedar wood. This material choice eliminates the need for staining or sealing, offering lower long-term maintenance than the Gorilla Great Skye II. It measures 243 inches wide and 223 inches deep, providing a slightly smaller footprint than the 27-foot wide cedar set. The unit weighs 825 pounds, indicating a heavy, stable plastic construction. You get multiple slides and a high capacity for play, but you give up the natural wood aesthetic and the specific dual-deck height configuration of the original. This pick suits families who want a durable, weather-resistant structure without wood upkeep.
Gorilla Playsets Great Skye I with Tube Slide
The Gorilla Playsets Great Skye I shares the same cedar construction and 156-inch height as the Great Skye II, but it is shorter in length. It measures 228 inches deep compared to the 20-foot depth of the original, making it a more compact option for yards with limited space. You lose one of the three slides and the rock wall feature found on the Great Skye II. The model retains the 800 lb weight capacity and traditional amber cedar finish. This alternative is ideal for buyers who want the same sturdy wood build and play deck height but need a narrower structure to fit their available yard area.
Gorilla Playsets Mountaineer Treehouse Swing Set
The Gorilla Playsets Mountaineer Treehouse Swing Set shifts the design focus to a treehouse theme rather than a traditional playset layout. It measures 174 inches wide and 240 inches long, offering a different spatial profile than the wide, rectangular Great Skye II. The height is 132 inches, which is lower than the 13-foot height of the original set. You gain a distinct treehouse aesthetic and potentially easier access to the play deck due to the lower height. However, you give up the extensive slide and climbing features of the Great Skye II. This pick is best for those prioritizing a themed play experience over multi-slide functionality.
Gorilla Playsets Pioneer Peak Wooden Swing Set
The Gorilla Playsets Pioneer Peak Wooden Swing Set offers a large footprint measuring 270 inches wide and 252 inches deep, which is larger than the Great Skye II. It shares the cedar material and 132-inch height with other Gorilla models, providing a protected play area with a roof. You get a traditional wood structure with ample space, but you may find it lacks the specific triple-slide and rock wall combination of the Great Skye II. The Pioneer Peak is designed for families wanting a spacious, covered wood playset. It suits those who prefer a larger ground-level footprint and do not require the higher dual-deck configuration of the original model.
