The Agitree wooden outdoor sandbox cover alternatives list helps you find a better fit if the Agitree Cedar Sandbox with Folding Benches does not match your needs. This original model features a unique fold-down bench cover and solid cedar construction. Its 49.8-inch square play area and side storage compartment offer practical tidiness for ages 3 to 8. However, you might prefer a different size, material, or shade option. Some buyers need a canopy for sun protection or a larger footprint for more children. Others may want a budget-friendly option or a distinct shape like a pirate ship.
The 6 alternatives on this list were chosen because their specifications overlap with the original product. Each option shares key traits such as wooden construction, bench seating, or integrated storage. You can compare dimensions, weight, and age ranges to find the right balance of space and durability. Whether you need a compact 47-inch unit or an expansive octagon design, these selections provide clear spec-based comparisons. Review the details to see which sandbox best suits your backyard layout and your children's play style.
How alternatives compare to Agitree
Agitree 47" Wooden Sandbox with Canopy
The Agitree 47-inch Fir Wood Sandbox with Canopy trades the fold-down bench cover for a fixed canopy. It is slightly smaller at 47.2 inches by 47.6 inches, compared to the original’s 49.8-inch footprint. This model weighs 47 pounds, making it heavier and potentially more stable. It includes benches for seating, similar to the original. You get shade protection rather than a sand-sealing lid. This option suits families with younger children who need compact play space and consistent sun protection over adjustable cover storage.
BIRASIL 48" Wooden Sandbox with Canopy & Benches
The BIRASIL 48-inch Wooden Sandbox with Canopy and Benches offers a square 48-inch design that is nearly identical in size to the original. It weighs 42 pounds, which is lighter than the Agitree fir model but comparable to the cedar original. It includes benches and an adjustable canopy. You lose the fold-down bench cover mechanism but gain a traditional canopy structure. This sandbox is best for families who want integrated seating and a sturdy, ground-based play area. It provides a similar social play environment with different weather protection.
GFDGFD 63" Pirate Ship Wooden Sandbox
The GFDGFD 63-inch Pirate Ship Wooden Sandbox is a themed alternative that prioritizes imaginative play. It measures 63 inches long by 30.7 inches wide, offering a longer, narrower shape rather than a square. It weighs only 29 pounds, making it the lightest option here. It includes benches and toy storage. You give up the square play area and the fold-down cover for a pirate ship design. This model is best for children who enjoy thematic play and where a single bench seat is sufficient for supervision.
Best Choice Products 47-Inch Cedar Sandbox with Benches
The Best Choice Products 47-inch Cedar Sandbox with Benches uses solid cedar construction, matching the original’s material choice. It is slightly smaller at 49 inches by 47.3 inches. It weighs 32.5 pounds, which is lighter than the original Agitree cedar model. It includes benches for seating. You lose the fold-down bench cover feature but retain the durable cedar build. This option is best for parents who prioritize natural wood durability and integrated storage and seating capabilities in a square sandbox format without the complex cover mechanism.
Mederra 46.5" Cedar Sandbox with Canopy
The Mederra 46.5-inch Cedar Sandbox with Canopy offers a compact square design measuring 46 inches by 46 inches. It is smaller than the original 49.8-inch model. It includes benches and a canopy for weather protection. You trade the fold-down bench cover for a fixed canopy structure. This sandbox is best for small yards needing compact seating and cover. It provides a space-saving solution with essential protective features. The honey brown finish offers a different aesthetic while maintaining the practical cedar construction and integrated seating found in the original.
SoliWood 85-Inch Octagon Wooden Sandbox with 4 Benches
The SoliWood 85-inch Octagon Wooden Sandbox with 4 Benches is a significantly larger option. It measures 85 inches by 78 inches, providing ample room for groups. It weighs 31 pounds. It includes four benches, offering more seating than the original’s two benches. You lose the compact square shape and the fold-down cover for an octagon design with a canopy. This model is best for large families needing bench seating and extensive play space. It fits homes with large yards and children who need room to play together comfortably.
